A Topping Bakeorama with BakeOff’s Martha Collison

Everyone loves cake, so it’s no surprise the Great British Bake Off and its talented contestants have kept the baking public in thrall year after year. The show has taken baking to a whole other level and among those transforming the very idea of how we make treats is the wonderful Martha Collison, who joins us to launch her brilliant new book Twist!

Martha captured the hearts of GBBO viewers up and down the country as the youngest contestant ever to appear on the show. Since impressing the Queen of Cake, Mary Berry, with her showstopping culinary feats, Martha has continued to challenge herself. Her cakes really made her a household name when Martha was chosen by HRH Elizabeth II to cook up a storm for the Royal 90th Birthday- the Queen being a huge fan of Martha’s walnut and lemon drizzle treats.

Back with a new book, Twist: Creative Ideas to Reinvent Your Baking, Martha offers a fresh masterclass in baking, revamping classic recipes and reinvigorating them with a thoroughly modern spin. Try her Pink Grapefruit Drizzle Cake, instead of the usual Lemon, and then mix it up with Gin & Tonic flavours. Or take Macarons to the next level and try Peanut Butter & Blackcurrant or even Mojito versions. Fresh, innovative and genuinely exciting, Twist looks set to make adventurous bakers of us all.
