Lorraine Kelly is a Scottish television presenter, journalist and author, best known for her ITV show, Lorraine. The Island Swimmer is her fiction debut, inspired by her love of Orkney and passion for cold water swimming.

In Orkney, Evie arrives on the spring tide to the wild landscape she left as a teenager, the one to which she swore she'd never return. She is estranged from her sister Liv, who remained on the island, their lives scattered after a childhood trauma. As she clears out her father's home to prepare it for sale, isolated Evie finds herself drawn to a group of cold-water swimmers who find calmness beneath the icy waves, despite the stormy weather. Together they help Evie face the mistakes of her past, unlocking a treasure trove of truths that will reverberate throughout the tight-knit community and shake her family to its core.

Lorraine is best known for her weekday show on ITV and has also hosted and presented many other TV programmes, including The Last Leg, RuPaul's Drag Race UK and The Paul O'Grady Show. This year sees Lorraine hosts her dream TV show, Queens for the Night for ITV. In addition to her television work, Lorraine writes a weekly column for Hello! Magazine, and was one of the longest serving columnists for The Sun. She is the author of Shine, 'a guide to making every day a brighter one'. The Island Swimmer is her first work of fiction.
