The Life (& Dinners) of Queen Victoria with Dr. Annie Gray
Wednesday 24th May 2017
St Peter's Church, Broad Street, Ely, CB7 4AH
7.30pm

We are delighted to welcome Annie Gray, resident food historian on Radio 4’s The Kitchen Cabinet, broadcaster and writer, to celebrate the publication of The Greedy Queen, which tells the story of Queen Victoria through the history of her food, the kitchens it was prepared in and the men and women who cooked it. From her early diet, restricted and controlled by her mother, to her lavish appetite in her old age, Dr Gray gives us a completely new picture of Victoria in her most intimate relationships and her state appearances. Annie Gray is an accomplished speaker, well known for her fascinating lectures on the history of food and dining; do not miss this opportunity to hear about one of our greatest monarchs from one of our most exciting historians.
