Ely Cathedral, The Gallery, Ely, Cambridgeshire CB7 4DL
6.45pm
7.30pm
In a dance career spanning more than 30 years, Darcey Bussell achieved legendary status in the dance world. Having trained at the Royal Ballet School in London, she became the youngest British principal dancer at The Royal Ballet in 1989, where she remained her whole career. More recently she has reached an even greater audience in her role as a judge on TV’s much-loved Strictly Come Dancing
Darcey Bussell: Evolved is an exquisitely produced tribute to honour the career of our best-loved dancer, filled with remarkable images of Dame Darcey in various locations, and performing at worldwide events such as the Olympics opening ceremony. The collection includes rare and unseen moments of Darcey shot by some of the world’s most famous photographers, including Lord Snowdon, Mario Testino and Annie Leibovitz. The images are accompanied by behind-the-scenes stories and personal anecdotes of her life.
This is one of the publishing events of the year, and we are so proud to welcome Darcey to Ely to share it.
