Charles Dowding is joining Topping & Company Booksellers at the Bath City Farm to give a talk on his first book for children No-Dig Children’s Gardening Book.

Known and loved for his trademark ‘no-dig’ technique which lends itself perfectly to gardening with little ones who might grow bored of heavy digging and weeding, Charles shares his expertise and a simple step-by-step guide, which makes for simple, achievable and fun gardening projects in outdoor spaces of any size.

An advocate of starting with a small area, Charles will explain the basics of setting up a flower or vegetable bed, how to grow wildlife friendly plants and making your own compost. The event will also include an interactive gardening demo showing children how to make a bed and sow seeds, and each child attending will be able to take home a pot with seeds and instructions on how to sow at home or school.
