Carol Ann Duffy is one of the most well-known and beloved poets of our time. She was Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom for a decade from 2009 to 2019. Her poetry has received many awards, including the Signal Prize for Children’s Verse, the Whitbread, Forward and T. S. Eliot Prizes, and the Lannan and E. M. Forster Awards in America. She won the PEN Pinter Prize in 2012, and was appointed DBE in 2015. In 2021, she was awarded the International Golden Wreath for lifetime achievement in poetry.
And now, we are delighted to announce she joins us in Bath to celebrate four newly-released collections. In these themed anthologies, Carol Ann Duffy presents us with her favourites among her poems. Drawing on work written over four decades and arranged chronologically, Duffy also adds to each of her selections one new poem. Exploring Love, Elegies, Politics and Nature - they manage to be both timely and universal.
Your ticket includes your choice of one of the anthologies we are celebrating. Please note Scholar tickets are for students and school children only.
Join us for an incredibly special evening of poetry and conversation.

‘A poet alert to every sound and shape of language.’ Sunday Telegraph
‘Duffy is magnificent, grounded, heartfelt, dedicated to the notion that poetry can give us the music of life itself.’ Scotsman
