We are very excited to welcome Alison Weir and Tracey Borman, who will be in conversation at the Bookshop talking about their rich new biographies of Mary Boleyn and Queen Matilda. Two leading lights in the world of historical writing, Alison and Tracey have written more than a dozen books on the history of British royalty between them, and have gathered much critical acclaim for their elegant, detailed  and meticulously-researched studies.

Weir’s book, the first full-scale biography of Mary Boleyn, delves into the life of one of history’s most complex women, and presents compelling new evidence that almost conclusively determines the paternity of Mary’s two oldest children. Borman too tells a riveting tale – that behind William the Conqueror’s Queen – in a study which has been described by critics as ‘thoughtful and thorough’ and ‘extraordinary and intiguing’.

Don’t miss the rare chance to hear these two leading biographers talking together about their work.
