A tasting evening of Sipsmith Gin with award-winning drinks historians Jared Brown and Anistatia Miller to celebrate A Most Noble Water: Revisiting the Origins of English Gin.

To accompany the talk this evening you will be treated to a tasting of Sipsmith Original 1639 Gin which was the original recipe for the research for the book, followed by Sipsmith London Dry and, fitting for this Autumnal evening, a nip of Sipsmith Sloe Gin.

We’ll also sample a home-baked batch of the 18th-century gingernuts that were commonly sold along with gingerbread as the perfect pairing with London gins back in the day.

A Most Noble Water presents an entirely new history of gin. Researched and written by award-winning drinks historians Jared Brown and Anistatia Miller, it shatters the whole notion of a Dutch origin and revisits English gin's German antecedents and definitively English origins. This is the first book to present in detail the recipes that led up to the development of modern-day gin and includes them verbatim. And it is heavily footnoted, so every reader can argue with the authors—or not.

This convivial evening is sure to be highly popular.
