Poetry on the Paragon with Carrie Etter and Claire Crowther
Tuesday 1st November 2016

Carrie Etter, a perennial favourite in the bookshop, has released perhaps her most brilliant and original creation yet in the small but perfectly formed chapbook, Scar. Exploring the effects of climate change on her home state of Illinois, the writing crackles and sparks in ominous, but somehow beautiful, dissonance.
The design of a coin is an act of succinct aggrandisement. Bare George, by the incredibly talented poet Claire Crowther, explores the coinage of power through a famous numismatic image: created in 1817 for King George III and his son, the Prince Regent, by celebrity gem designer Benedetto Pistrucci, it pictures young St. George, lancing a dragon.
Join us for a very special evening as these two fabulous poets read and answer your questions.
