George R. R. Martin, the author of the widely successful series A Song of Ice and Fire, will be discussing his long and distinguished career.
Adapted into the hugely popular US television series Game of Thrones, A Song of Ice and Fire has gained worldwide acclaim for its skilfully crafted narrative and for the rich characters that George R. R. Martin has created. The works are epic, intricate tales set in an atmospheric world of dragons, warring clans and seasons that last for years. Hailed as an ‘American Tolkien’ his is an invented world of kingdoms and dynasties but one that is grounded in a harsh reality where heroes die and the prismatic hues of grey are favoured over black and white storytelling and characters.
This is an exciting and incredibly rare chance to meet one of the titans of fantasy writing today and hear him talk about his craft, his career, and the creation of A Song of Ice and Fire.
